Cross

The members of Highland Park United Methodist Church count it a joy to share this corner of Stillwater with you. We would love the opportunity to get to know you better through worship and fellowship. Please consider this an open invitation to join us for worship (10:30 a.m.) or any of our other activities.

Our Facility
On Easter Sunday, April 17, 1960, those who desired to become members of the new church, HPUMC, went to the altar and received the blessings and good wishes of the sponsoring church. The church began with thirty-five members. The first worship service was held at the Wesley Foundation Building across the street from the Oklahoma State University campus on May 8, 1960. Services were later held in what is now Fellowship Hall. The church later added what is now the Sanctuary. With such a rich history, HPUMC also has plenty of areas for children, youth and adult education as well as a nursery and administrative areas.

Sunday School
Our church has four adult Sunday school classes along with Sunday school classes for children three-years-old through high school age starting at 9:30 a.m. The nursery is available from 9:20 a.m. until noon for children of adults wanting to attend adult Sunday school and worship.

Youth Groups
F.O.G., Followers of God, is for children of all ages. They meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The group discusses Bible stories, works on crafts, plays games and watches movie clips relating them to their own lives as Christians. The goal of F.O.G. is to provide a positive environment for the children and a place to talk as well as learn about religion in their lives.
L.O.C., Learners of Christ, is for Middle School (6th through 8th grade) students. It meets each Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. for crafts, games, fellowship, mission projects and studying the stories of the Bible.

Fellowship Hall
The Fellowship Hall was rededicated in December 2007 after a fire in April 2007 destroyed the original Fellowship Hall. With a new and spacious Fellowship Hall, the members of HPUMC use it for all types of events and activities. Every second Sunday of the month at 11:45 a.m. HPUMC members gather in the Fellowship Hall to enjoy food and fellowship. Everyone brings a favorite dish or dessert to share. Items which need to stay warm may be placed in the kitchen before the worship service.
